Leadership goes beyond individual success. It’s about the impact you have on others.
Energy Workforce’s Leadership Forum, hosted by NOV, featured EWTC Advisory Board Member Lindsy Sallee, Sr. Vice President, Rig Technologies, Sales & Product Line Management, NOV, for a discussion on how effective leadership is shaped by the decisions we make and the impact we leave on others.
Drawing from her career experiences, Sallee shared perspectives on navigating difficult decisions, advocating for your team, and empowering individuals to succeed. She emphasized that leadership requires giving others the opportunity to grow and recognizing how everyday interactions can have a lasting impact.
Sallee also addressed the responsibility leaders have to empower their teams by allowing individuals to approach challenges in their own way. Rather than stepping in to take control, she encouraged leaders to provide guidance when needed while giving employees the opportunity to take ownership of their work and develop their capabilities.
“As a leader, your words have a lasting impact on others. Be intentional with what you say and how you communicate,” said Sallee.
Reinforcing this message, Sallee noted that leadership is demonstrated not only through decision-making but also through everyday interactions. The way leaders communicate, provide feedback, and support their teams can influence individual development and the success of an organization.
The forum wrapped up with a Q&A session, giving attendees the opportunity to hear more about the experiences and lessons that have shaped Sallee’s leadership approach, including navigating organizational change and evolving her management style throughout her career.
Thank you to Lindsy Sallee and Emerging Executives Committee Chair Nathan King, NOV. Special thanks to NOV for hosting!
