Energy Workforce President Molly Determan Advances Industry Priorities at CERAWeek 2025

Molly Determan, President of the Energy Workforce & Technology Council, actively participated in CERAWeek 2025 in Houston, Texas—one of the world’s premier energy forums, drawing over 10,000 leaders from more than 2,000 companies across 80 countries.

Determan joined key conversations shaping the future of energy, engaging with executives, policymakers, and stakeholders on critical issues including capital efficiency, regulatory certainty, and energy security. Energy Workforce member companies with prominent roles at the event included:
• Baker Hughes
• Caterpillar Inc.
• Halliburton
• SLB
• TechnipFMC
• Weatherford

This year’s discussions focused on the need for consistent, long-term policies to support business planning and capital investment. Chevron CEO Mike Wirth underscored the importance of regulatory “durability,” calling for stable policy frameworks to foster confidence in long-term strategies.

U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright championed increased fossil fuel production to meet global demand, labeling himself a “climate realist” and stressing the role of natural gas in energy reliability. U.S. Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum echoed similar themes, advocating for expanded drilling and mining on public lands as part of a broader push to enhance energy infrastructure and national security.

Through onsite meetings with industry leaders like Harold Hamm, Determan reinforced Energy Workforce’s commitment to policies that support innovation, workforce development, and American energy leadership.
