Association Leaders Look to Energy Workforce as Model for Industry-Led Workforce Development

Energy Workforce President Molly Determan traveled to Washington, D.C., this week to join association executives and industry leaders for a discussion on workforce development, leadership pipelines and long-term talent strategy.

During the conversation, attendees pointed to Energy Workforce & Technology Council as a leading example of how industry-led collaboration can strengthen workforce readiness and leadership development across a sector.

Determan highlighted how Energy Workforce’s workforce initiatives have been built and refined through years of direct member company engagement, ensuring programs remain aligned with real operational needs and industry challenges.

“Our workforce efforts have been successful because they are driven by the companies doing the work every day,” said Determan. “Our members have invested their expertise, leadership and long-term commitment to building programs that support the future of this industry.”

Thank you to Heidrick & Struggles, along with Laura Gironda and Tonya W. Muse, for convening the discussion and creating an opportunity to highlight the importance of industry-driven workforce solutions.
