Energy Workforce President Molly Determan and NOV CEO Jose Bayardo met this morning with the Minister of Economy of Neuquén, Argentina, Guillermo Koenig, alongside other Houston energy leaders to discuss expanding opportunities for U.S.-Argentina collaboration through technology, investment, and large-scale development. The conversation emphasized not only current momentum but also the long-term strategic alignment between both countries as global energy demand continues to evolve.
Organized by KE&S LATAM BUSINESS LAW and Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, the discussion highlighted Neuquén’s rapid growth as the center of Argentina’s oil and gas development. Home to the Vaca Muerta formation, the province now drives the majority of the country’s production, with output nearing record highs and rising. Infrastructure investments, including the Perito Moreno gas pipeline that is a crucial link between the Vaca Muerta formation and Buenos Aires, are accelerating that trajectory, improving transportation capacity, and strengthening Argentina’s position as a competitive energy exporter in South America.
Energy Workforce’s Latin America Chapter is key to advancing these relationships, connecting member companies with high-growth markets and on-the-ground opportunities across the region. Through these efforts, the organization continues to play a vital role in fostering cross-border collaboration and facilitating direct engagement between industry leaders and policymakers.
Stronger U.S.–Argentina collaboration means more efficient development, expanded supply, and greater energy security benefiting not only both nations, but also contributing to stability in global energy markets.
