Energy Workforce and Member Companies hosted a delegation of U.S. government officials this week during the 2023 Offshore Technology Conference in Houston.

Heather Evans, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Manufacturing for the International Trade Administration at the U.S. Department of Commerce and David Edginton, U.S. Consul General in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, toured the trade floor with representatives from Member Companies Oceaneering, SLB and NOV.

These officials play an important role, as the energy industry works with the U.S. government on manufacturing, trade and foreign market issues. Through the exhibit tours, Energy Workforce Member Companies had the opportunity to highlight the breadth of work and technologies their companies can offer as part of the offshore industry.

Other exhibitors participating at OTC included Energy Workforce Member Companies AUGE, Baker Hughes, Bridon Bekaert, Cavins Oil Well Tools, Cummins, Deloitte, Dragon Products, Endeavor Business Media, HDI Instruments, HMH, Nabors Industries, Oceaneering, Oil States International, SLB, Solar Turbines: A Caterpillar Company, Stress Engineering Services, WN Global and WPT Power Corporation. Their exhibits featured the technology and operations that are making the offshore energy sector cleaner and more efficient.

In addition to the significant industry presence, the OTC hosted over 15 delegations from foreign governments. These international delegations were comprised of high-ranking government officials, international business leaders and diplomats, all with the shared interest of expanding the offshore energy industry in their respective countries.

Energy Workforce’s staff members were present throughout the week at the Energy Workforce & Technology Council booth on the trade floor. Staff members were able to meet with OTC attendees, network and build relationships with fellow organizations. Energy Workforce will use the insights and opportunities gained through OTC to continue promoting and advocating for the energy services and technology sector of the industry.
