Integrated Leadership Program Concludes with Insights from Board of Directors Vice Chair Sam Sledge

Executive Leadership Program: Integrated Leadership

The first offering of the Executive Leadership Program: Integrated Leadership cohort, in partnership with Heidrick & Struggles, wrapped up the year’s final session last week. Throughout the program, participants honed their leadership skills, empowering them to lead confidently and effectively and navigate the challenges of their teams and organizations.

Vice President of Programs and Events Peggy Helfert opened the session with an overview of upcoming events participants can attend and information on graduation.

As the group’s final exercise, attendees broke into small groups and immersed themselves in a scenario where they stepped into a C-level role. They learned to communicate with their group and navigate the challenges presented throughout the exercise.

The group also discussed the various stakeholders in a large project and identified potential challenges. They then developed strategies to manage these challenges and minimize risks.

Another scenario explored the potential need to reset project plans, taking into consideration employee welfare, and exploring the possibility of flexible work schedules.

“Employee welfare and the ability to adapt to the needs of employees are crucial for making a project successful and safe. At the end of the day, if employees feel their needs are being met, the project will run smoothly. A team must be adaptable to achieve success.”

Participants also had the opportunity to address workplace safety. In small groups, they collaborated to develop solutions to various workplace safety scenarios, focusing on labor issues. By working through these hypothetical situations, participants were able to hone their critical thinking skills and understand the importance of adaptability as a leader.

As the final session of the program came to a close, Board of Directors Vice Chair Sam Sledge, CEO & Director of ProPetro Services, Inc., joined the session to share his leadership insights and dive into his career journey, leaving attendees inspired. Participants also had the chance to engage in an exclusive Q&A session with Sam.

“I knew that if I wanted to be in the oilfield services and if I wanted to be successful, I needed to know the business from the inside out, and I had the opportunity to do that at ProPetro,” Sam shared with the group.

Congratulations to all participants. Energy Workforce will be sharing information on graduation details with all attendees.
