Members Promote Texas Energy at the State Capitol

Capitol

This week, Energy Workforce President Tim Tarpley and members of the Texas oil and gas industry held meetings and events at the State Capitol in Austin to support and promote Texas energy. Texas Energy Day is coordinated by the Texas Oil & Gas Association (TXOGA), with multiple partners and sponsors, including Energy Workforce & Technology Council.

“Texas is the nation’s number one producer of oil and natural gas, contributing more than $24.7 billion in state and local taxes and state royalties. Protecting this valuable resource in Texas, which contributes to the energy security for our nation and our allies, is imperative to our overall national security and economic vitality.”

Hundreds of energy advocates, employees and supporters visited the State Capitol to talk directly to Texas legislators about the importance of oil and natural gas to the state’s economy, education, infrastructure and overall success. TXOGA also hosted an “Energy Plaza” in their parking lot in Austin, where energy technologies and innovations were showcased.
