DOE Funding Opportunity Worth $6 Billion Addresses Decarbonization, Emissions Reduction

Last week, the Department of Energy announced a $6 billion funding opportunity for industrial decarbonization and emissions reduction demonstration-to-deployment through the Industrial Demonstrations Program. This funding will be made available for three programs managed through the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED), in collaboration with the Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains (MESC) and the Industrial Efficiency and Decarbonization Office (IEDO).

The full funding opportunity announcement can be found here, which gives detailed information on the program requirements and projects the funding will cover. The submission deadline for project position papers is 5 p.m. EDT on April 21, 2023, a required step for companies wishing to apply for this program.

The Energy Workforce Government Affairs team will continue to monitor and keep Members updated on funding opportunities stemming from recently passed legislation including the Inflation Reduction Act, Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
